Politics

After a failed run for Berkeley City Council in 2018, I now serve on the City’s Homeless and Welfare Commissions. My goal is to have all of our cities work more like communities and less like proving grounds for regressive policies that exacerbate poverty and further endanger the disappearing middle class. When making policy proposals. I frequently rely on similar strategies I use in art-making, which is really just a different form of problem-solving. Where is there a surplus, and where is there a deficit? How can we stack programs to make communities symbiotic, rather than having people fight each other over shrinking resources? I will be posting many of those ideas here, and hope to make this an incubator and networking tool for others looking to share ideas and make communities stronger, more just, and more diverse in every sense of the word.
